The Endangered Archives Programme was set up in 2004. We are funded by Arcadia and administered by The British Library. Our aim is “to contribute to the preservation of archival material that is in danger of destruction, neglect or physical deterioration world-wide”. A major and important task.
This blog will be used to share some of the interesting and amazing records copied under the Programme. I also hope to discuss some aspects of how the programme works, and give insights into the challenges of cataloguing, preserving and making available such a vast array of records, manuscripts, audio, audio-video and image material - all in digital or microfilm format.

Dear Lynda
Congratulations on your blog.
Coincidentally I am in the middle stages of designing one for my Australian-based Timor archives project (CHART) which will include links to your EAP work on the CAVR Timor materials.
I am a complete Blogger novice but can immediately see the value of this form of communication (not to mention the much easier creation/management issues compared to a traditional website).
Anyhow: Look forward to keeping an eye on your work in this way.
Best wishes
