British manufacturing generates £137 billion to the economy and employs 2.5 million people. So it's great that the Science Museum in London has a new exhibition starting tomorrow that celebrates the importance and success of British manufacturing. Make it in Great Britain runs from 24 July to 9 September and aims to feature some of the most exciting Great British innovations happening today, from food and drink to pharmaceuticals, creative industries to construction.
It ties in with a campaign being run at the same time by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to highlight feats of engineering from British brands such as Rolls Royce and McLaren, and the budding talents of young inventors. Over 40 companies are involved including Airbus, Siemens, Jaguar Land Rover and Bombadier.
